"Within six weeks, I had restructured my pricing model and increased margins by 22%. The coaching didn't feel generic — it was forensic, targeted, and uncomfortable in the best way."
Harriet LoweManaging Director, Lowe & Birch Consulting
"I came in thinking I needed a marketing plan. What I actually needed was an operating model overhaul. That distinction alone was worth the entire engagement."
Damien OkoroFounder, Steelpoint Logistics
"The readiness diagnostic was eye-opening. It revealed blind spots in my leadership approach that three years of running the business had buried."

A Coaching Dossier for Founders Who Have Outgrown Advice

Most business coaching sells certainty. We begin with a different premise: your business already contains the answers — they're obscured by operational noise, inherited assumptions, and the relentless pace of daily decisions. KeyBiz Mentorship exists to help you excavate those answers, stress-test them, and build from what's actually true rather than what sounds inspiring on a slide deck.

This page is structured as an editorial dossier — not a sales brochure. Read what resonates. Skip what doesn't. The right coaching relationship starts with honest self-selection, not persuasion.

Business coaching session in a contemporary office environment

"We don't coach to templates. Every engagement begins with a diagnostic conversation that determines whether we're the right fit — and whether now is the right time."

The Coaching Framework

Five interconnected phases, adapted to the specific gravity of your business challenge.

Phase Focus Typical Duration Your Role
Diagnostic Mapping operational reality against stated ambitions. Identifying the gap between where you are and where you believe you are. 1–2 sessions Full transparency about current state
Confrontation Challenging embedded assumptions about revenue, team capability, market position, and personal capacity. 2–3 sessions Willingness to sit with discomfort
Architecture Designing the structural changes — pricing, delegation, decision-making, growth levers — that address root causes. 3–4 sessions Active co-design and ownership
Implementation Executing changes with accountability checkpoints. Real-time coaching through friction points. 4–8 sessions Commitment to execution rhythm
Integration Embedding new operating patterns so they outlast the coaching relationship. Building self-sustaining review habits. 2–3 sessions Honest self-assessment

Two Paths. One Honest Question.

Before we discuss logistics, consider which description fits your current situation more closely.

Path A: The Operational Founder

You built something real, but you're now the bottleneck. Revenue has plateaued or growth feels fragile. You suspect the business needs structural change but can't see it clearly from inside.

  • Revenue between £200K and £2M
  • Team of 3–25 people
  • Founder still involved in daily operations
  • Decisions feel reactive rather than strategic

Path B: The Scaling Leader

You've proven the model and now face a different problem: how to grow without losing what made you successful. You need a thinking partner, not a consultant with a framework fetish.

  • Revenue above £1.5M or rapid trajectory
  • Hiring, delegation, or culture challenges
  • Considering new markets or product lines
  • Leadership identity shifting from doer to director

What This Is Not

This is not motivational coaching. There are no vision boards, no accountability pods, no pre-recorded modules. We do not sell courses disguised as mentorship or group programmes where your specific context gets diluted into generic advice.

Every engagement is one-to-one. Sessions are 75 minutes, conducted via video or in person at our Walterton office. Between sessions, you'll have direct access for time-sensitive decisions — because business doesn't pause for your next appointment.

We also don't work with everyone who enquires. Roughly one in three initial conversations leads to a coaching engagement. That's by design. Coaching only works when the timing, the challenge, and the chemistry align. We'd rather be honest about fit than optimistic about fees.

Editorial Note

This dossier is updated quarterly to reflect shifts in our coaching methodology and client outcomes. Last revision: January 2026.

If you've read this far, you're likely the kind of leader who values depth over polish. That's exactly who this work is for.

Selected Client Outcomes

From Reactive to Recurring

Professional Services · 14-month engagement

A boutique consultancy founder came to us billing £380K annually with unpredictable cash flow. Through the Architecture and Implementation phases, we restructured their service delivery into retainer-based packages. Within nine months, 68% of revenue was recurring. The founder reduced weekly hours from 62 to 44 while growing total revenue to £510K.

Leadership Transition Under Pressure

Manufacturing · 8-month engagement

A second-generation family business leader was struggling to implement operational changes inherited leadership resisted. Our Confrontation phase revealed that the real barrier wasn't the team — it was unclear authority boundaries. After establishing a formal decision-rights framework, three senior hires were made and production efficiency improved by a measurable margin within one quarter.

Readiness Diagnostic

Consider these six signals. If three or more resonate, you're likely ready for this kind of work.

Revenue ceiling You've hit a revenue level you can't seem to break through, despite working harder.
Decision fatigue Every significant choice feels like it rests entirely on your shoulders, with no structured way to delegate.
Team friction You've hired good people but something isn't clicking — accountability, communication, or alignment.
Identity shift You sense that the skills that built the business aren't the skills that will grow it.
Strategic fog You have multiple possible directions but no clear framework for choosing between them.
Isolation You lack a thinking partner who understands operational reality and won't just tell you what you want to hear.

Initial consultations are 30 minutes, free of charge, and designed to determine mutual fit — not to sell. If we're not the right match, we'll tell you directly and, where possible, point you toward someone who is.
